Gavin Attwood is a seasoned nonprofit executive with nearly two decades of transformative leadership in healthcare and human services. Renowned for turning around underperforming organizations, Gavin has a proven track record in securing multimillion-dollar funding, shaping public policy, and building sustainable, mission-aligned operations.
As CEO of both the United States Brain Injury Alliance and the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado, Gavin expanded services statewide, led strategic policy reforms—including the passage of the Jake Snakenberg Youth Sports Concussion Act—and secured over $12.3 million in funding, including a landmark $5.5 million grant. His tenure elevated both organizations into national models of advocacy, access, and impact.
Gavin’s collaborative, transparent leadership style has made him a trusted advisor to boards, funders, and community stakeholders. His expertise spans strategic planning, public affairs, fundraising, regulatory compliance, and cross-sector coalition building. A former chair of USBIA and current chair of Colorado’s Brain Injury Public Policy Collaborative, Gavin remains at the forefront of efforts to expand equitable access to care.
He also brings extensive media experience and a unique background as an international mountaineering guide for people with disabilities. Gavin is based in Littleton, Colorado, and continues to champion innovation, inclusion, and resilience in the nonprofit sector.
